The University of Delaware (UD), located in Newark, Delaware, is a public research university. It was founded in 1743 and is considered one of the oldest public universities in the United States. The university is known for its strong research programs and has been designated as a “Research University with Very High Research Activity” by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
